SpoolFactory has done an implementation of Hebrew alphabet
in Spool Converter Pro, in order to allow the spooled file (*SCS)
conversion of iSeries/AS400 Hebrew reports to PDF format
|
Hebrew PDF conversion has available all the software features except:
- It is not possible to search a text in the document
- Bookmarks and Annotations can not contain Hebrew text
- It is not possible to use barcodes or other fonts
|
The next issues must be kept in mind:
- The resulting files must be generated in IFS, not in the traditional
AS400 file system (library/file)
- By now, only is available one Hebrew font, but if someday would be
available more Hebrew fonts, only one of them will can be used
- Other included fonts by default (Times, Helvetica) can be used only
if are applied to non Hebrew text
- Italic, Bold and Bold-Italic features are different fonts based on
their base font, so these features are not available for Hebrew font
- Mostly of transformation rules are based on text localization.
Text localization containing Hebrew and non Hebrew text doesn't
work, so for localization must be used entirely Hebrew text
or entirely non Hebrew text
